Why is Kevin Marshall Trying to Destroy UFC 133 Before Throwing Himself Off the Roof of a Hotel?

Kevin Marshall, of Albany Times Union blogging fame, is a regular on The Right Hook. He’s not a Republican per say (or at all), but we bonded over the UFC and the ridonkulous reasons why it isn’t legal in New York, plus if there’s one thing people from across the political spectrum can agree on…it’s how much we hate politicians.

He also causes fighters to get injured anytime he comes on the show to talk aboot the UFC.

It started at UFC 130 when both fighters in the main event, Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, were pulled from the fight due to injury. Luckily Randy Savage died that week (not funny) so we had plenty to talk aboot. I decided to bring him back for UFC 133, when Jon Jones was scheduled to fight Rashad Evans. Two NY fighters fighting in a state that wasn’t in NY, it seemed like a good hook.

Then comes the Marshall Curse.

First was Jon Jones, who got injured before the fight was announced. That made Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis, until Davis was injured and it became Rashad Evans vs. Tito Ortiz…who just got into a car accident. As of this writing, he is still scheduled to fight…for now.

The co-main event, Rich Franklin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, got scrapped completely with a Nogueria injury.

Plus there are the three or four injuries to the undercard.

I tell you this as an excuse to mention that Kevin is raising money for the Special Olympics, and not only that, if he raises over $1000 he gets to repel down the side of a hotel. Check out what each donation gets you. For a total of $60, he’s writing a poem for me AND signing Lionel Ritchie’s “Hello” to my photo!

Help a fellow blogger throw himself off the roof of a building. Helping the Special Olympics is a pretty noble thing to do too.
